Why should you reduce your sodium intake?

Excess sodium increases a person’s risk for high blood pressure, which can
lead to heart disease and stroke.

Americans consume an average
of 3,400 mg of sodium per day.

50% more than the 2,300 mg voluntary limit recommended by the FDA.

1 in 2 Hispanics
have high blood pressure.

1 in 3 Americans
have high blood pressure.

1 in 2 African Americans have
high blood pressure.

65% of the sodium you eat comes
from food bought in retail stores.

Lowering your sodium consumption will have a positive impact on your blood pressure which could prevent heart attacks and strokes.

About SaltMe!

Born and raised in MicroSalt® kitchen.

SaltMe! Is a brand of Salarius LLC, a company with the purpose of delivering food technology solutions that enable people to live a long, healthy and delightful life.

We in Salarius found 2 problems:

Problem #1
Americans consume an average of 3,400 mg of sodium per day 50% more than the 2,300mg voluntary limit recommended by the FDA. Consequently, 1 in 3 or 70MM adults in the U.S. have high blood pressure

Problem #2
Most american consumers will not settle for “low sodium, lightly salted or unsalted” products due to less than desired flavor profiles. Also, according to the FDA, reducing sodium intake by 33% will reduce an estimated 28,000 – 50,000 deaths per year.

These were sufficient reasons to create a snacks brand
aiming these two problems:

Reducing sodium by 50% while not
compromising a bit on flavor.

That's why SaltMe! was born.
